Rolls-Royce Sweptail is based on the regular Phantom but takes inspiration from vintage models and has unique design features Looking at these pictures you could be easily deceived that this is a brand new Rolls-Royce model but it is not. The British luxury manufacturer has introduced another one-off vehicle commissioned by a connoisseur. Christened as the Sweptail, it is debuting at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este at Lake Como. The Sweptail is based on the same architecture as the Phantom Coupe but has distinctive exterior and interior in terms of design. The famed luxury brand says that the styling of the vehicle takes inspiration from the vintage models of the past in order to embody the Spirit of Ecstasy and luxury yachts. There have been subtle design touches incorporated in the Sweptail and the influence of yachts is apparent mainly when looking at the rear of the vehicle. The window gets a tapered design from the roof to above the tailgate structure enabling a triangular shape. Meanwhile, the curvature at the rear end dramatically alters the overall silhouette of the Sweptail. Rolls-Royce has added some changes to the front as well but they are not as radical as the rear. For instance, there is a new headlamp unit and a restyled bumper. On the inside, there are highly noticeable modifications compared to the stock Phantom. They include removal of the rear seats to accommodate wooden mid shelf with blue lighting, new Macassar Ebony and Paldao wood, leather trim finished in Moccassin and Dark Spice among others The Sweptail is said to be at the pinnacle of coach-building as it comes as a result of the most special customers and responding to their interests. So, finally we are down to the pricing. It is obviously more than you or I thought. For all these exclusive excellence RR will be charging $13 million (approximately Rs. 83 crore).
