TVS Jupiter ZX Drum gets SmartXonnect technology enabling features such as turn-by-turn navigation, voice assistance, alert function, etc

TVS Motor Company has released a press statement announcing the introduction of a new variant of the Jupiter scooter. The brand has added Bluetooth connectivity for the Jupiter ZX Drum variant. Available in two colour schemes namely Starlight Blue and the new Olive Gold, it features a digital cluster and a host of connected technologies.

The Hosur-based manufacturer has noted that the availability of the SmartXonnect feature in the drum variant comes on the back of the success endured by the Jupiter SmartXonnect disc variant. It enables features that riders will benefit from such as turn-by-turn navigation, alert functions for SMS and call, voice assistance, etc.

In addition, TVS has added a built-in mobile charger that helps in enhancing the overall convenience as smartphones can be charged on the go. The brand has noted that the TVS Jupiter ZX Drum is available across all dealerships present in the country and it carries a price tag of Rs. 84,468 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

In other news, TVS has crossed 1.5 lakh unit sales with the iQube electric scooter and is planning to unveil a brand new e-scooter later this month. The latest teaser video indicates the presence of a vertically-positioned LED headlamp, sporty-looking front apron and turn signals. It may well be the production version of the Creon concept showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo.

The two teasers so far have not given away a lot of details though so we will have to wait and see what really pans out on August 23, 2023. Rest assured, it will be a big one considering that the global debut will be hosted in Dubai. The TVS Creon concept was one of the most promising concepts ever displayed on the biennial motoring show.

It was claimed to do zero to 60 kmph in 5.1 seconds and used an 11.76 kW electric motor. We do expect the upcoming scooter to have a range of over 150 km and it could be positioned above the iQube to compete against Ola S1 Pro, Hero Vida V1, Simple One and Ather 450X. It is worth noting that a 310 cc naked streetfighter will also be launched in the coming months.
