The production version of the TVS Creon concept showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo could debut on August 23 in Dubai

TVS Motor Company has confirmed to introduce a brand new two-wheeler on August 23, 2023. It will more likely be a brand new electric scooter joining the iQube as the second EV. While we do expect TVS to reveal more details leading up to its global premiere, the first teaser shows vertically positioned lighting system, echoing that of the Creon concept.

It will be a high-stakes offering considering that the debut event will be hosted in Dubai and it could be positioned above the iQube as a more upmarket product. The Hosur-based company has noted that it will be an “electric-flying launch that will defy the status quo in mobility”. Thus, it could be a more advanced electric scooter compared to the iQube.

The TVS iQube has been well received amongst customers and courtesy of the brand expanding its footprint across different parts of the country, its sales numbers have grown big time recently. TVS unveiled the Creon concept at the 2018 Auto Expo and the production model could turn out to be sportier than the iQube and it may boast a larger battery pack enabling a longer range.

It may also have larger proportions than the iQube giving a maxi-scooter look and an aggressive front end. The equipment list will more likely feature an all-digital instrument cluster and sporty decals. The concept used three Lithium-ion batteries capable of developing 12 kW power and it was claimed to do zero to 96 kmph in just 5.1 seconds.

The concept was said to have a range of 80 km on a single charge and a fast charger would help charge back up to 80 per cent in 60 minutes. However, we can expect the production-spec Creon to have a range of well over 150 km on a single charge and could be equipped with connectivity features to attract young customers.

The electric two-wheeler space is vastly growing in the Indian market and the mainstream manufacturers have begun stepping in with new offerings to take on formidable rivals in Ola Electric and Ather Energy. TVS is also expected to launch a naked streetfighter based on the Apache RR 310 in the coming months.
