Mahindra Thar is one of the most popular lifestyle vehicles in the country. The Thar follows the design language of earlier Jeep models and it has lots of fan following across the country. Mahindra organises Thar fest across different cities in India for customers with lots of events and programs to showcase the capabilities of the vehicle.
Most of the people who buy Thar is for modifications and they take it straight from dealerships to customization shops to transform the Thar into their own personalized vehicle which will make them stand out from other owners. In this article we are featuring a customized Thar by Azad 4×4 which is famous for its off-road modifications.

Mahindra is offering Thar only in soft top version. The modifications done for the Thar is to make it more comfortable and better looking compared to regular model. Azad 4×4 used a bolt on kit for the hard top as it doesn’t require any extra holes, which is very good as the structural rigidity remains the same.
Azad 4×4 used a custom 3 piece kit which created using advanced E-Glass technology. The custom shop has also focused on making the roof water proof as the water gets channelled above door and flows through the body. Apart from the hard top, they have also given a rear door to easily access the boot and it comes with defogger which will help the driver in rainy conditions.

Azad 4×4 has given extra PUF insulation along with tinted side glass to keep the temperature down inside the Thar during summer season. The insulation also helps the cabin well insulated from outside sounds and they have also given LED tail lamp. Along with these customizations, the optional extra’s include roof lining, roof rails and sunroof.
The total cost of modification is Rs. 75,000 but the optional extra’s like sunroof costs Rs. 36,000, Rs. 6000 for metal rails, Rs. 22,000 for jump seats from Toyota Innova and Rs. 8000 for sidelining carpet and roof lining. These modifications make the Thar more comfortable and attractive with new hard roof.
