Tata Motors has bagged 60% of EESL’s 10,000 EV fleet order; will deliver the electric cars in two phases

Tata Motors has bagged 60% EESL’s massive 10,000 EV order and the brand hopes this will boost its full range EV program. The homegrown automaker has been working on electric vehicles for quite long time. But, despite showcasing futuristic concept EV models, Tata Motors didn’t produce the zero emission vehicles commercially. However, things accelerated lately and it started testing the Nano EV and displayed a Tiago EV as well.

Now, with 60% of the EESL’s order bagged and the phase of delivery scheduled in November 2017, Tata is ready to uncover its first commercially produced EV. In past, the brand showcased electric versions of regular products like Vista, Zest and Bolt. Recently, showcasing the Tiago EV concept at an event in UK ignited the speculation of arrival of a zero emission version of this popular hatchback.
