Ford joins other brands like Tata Motors, Skoda, Honda and Toyota to announce price hike from next month
Ford is preparing to increase pricing of its popular compact SUV EcoSport from 1st January, 2018. The American auto major will join the bandwagon of other major brands like Tata Motors, Isuzu, Honda, Toyota and Skoda India to hike price of entire portfolio in the domestic market. The move comes as part of the brand’s yearly price revision.
Under the revised price list, Ford models are expected to be dearer by up to Rs. 30,000. Ford Endeavour is likely to see a price hike of around Rs. 30,000 as well. EcoSport pricing too would be hiked significantly. However, the auto major thinks this price hike won’t affect the sales of the compact SUV that rivals tough competitors like Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.

Presently Ford EcoSport is priced between Rs. 7.31 lakh and Rs. 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Expect it to see slight price hike in the revised price list. The models on offer from the American auto manufacturer to be pricier from January include Figo, Aspire etc. The announcement comes within a few days after several other brands announced price hike from 1st January, 2018.
Speaking about the new Ford EcoSport, it comes wearing a restyled front fascia compared to the old model. The front grille, headlamp and front bumper have received update. Not only exterior, inside the cabin too, this compact SUV has become more upmarket and stylish compared to the previous model. Addition of the touchscreen infotainment system has added zing to the popular compact SUV.

Ford EcoSport is available in both petrol and diesel engine options. Transmission options for the SUV include both manual and automatic gearboxes. The petrol engines include 1.5-litre Ti-VCT motor, while the diesel variant gets energy from a 1.5-litre engine.
While the brand is gearing up for price hike, it is also planning to roll out several new models in the country coming years. Success of Ford EcoSport and Endeavour has inspired the brand to bring models like Kuga here that is going to be a very interesting product.
