Kia Motors launches official Indian website ahead of the Roadshow planned from August for meeting interested dealer partners
Kia Motors, the subsidiary of Hyundai, has been making waves of late as it is planning to enter the domestic market with a host of impressive car lineup. As the debut is just around two years to go, the South Korean auto major is trying to establish itself in the country in commercial and financial standpoint. As part of it, the brand’s official website has gone live ahead of preparations for the ‘Roadshow’.
Kia is seeking business partners in India who “want to be leaders” in its own words. It has 14 manufacturing facilities in countries like US, China, Russia, Slovakia and Korea to produce over 3 million vehicles per year. With annual revenue of 44 billion USD, Kia’s rise to the fame meant that it had indeed outsold its parental company last year in Korea before achieving a similar feat in US this May.
Its domestic factory is being established at the Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh and it would be responsible for rolling out 3 lakh vehicles by 2019. Committing to the immensely growing Indian market, Kia has been investing $1.1 billion on not just the 536-acre facility but in other areas of business development that would help reaching out prospective customers.
The second largest Korean car maker in the world is on a roll lately after being honoured with accolades for International Car of the Year with Optima sedan and World Car of the Year with Sorento crossover. Through the kiaroadshowindia.com, potential dealer partners can register themselves if interested. They will get to convene with top authorities of Kia during the course of the two-day Roadshow scheduled from next month till September.
We are hoped to hear about the vehicle lineup Kia has in store for India during the meeting and its product strategies. Beginning from Delhi at JW Marriott Aerocity on August 8 and 9, the Kia Roadshow will visit Mumbai on 16 and 17 August, Bangalore on 23 and 24 before reaching Kolkata on 1st of September. With Lexus and Jeep entering the domestic market recently, Kia will be a mainstream manufacturer competing in the volume segment against dip-dyed as well as upcoming arrivals like PSA and MG Motor.
