FCA doubles wholesale in July 2017, thanks to the 935 units of Jeep Compass dispatched
Jeep has just launched its newest SUV Compass in India and this car has received pretty good response already. In the very first month, the American SUV manufacturer has dispatched 935 units of the Compass to the dealers. Thanks to the Jeep Compass FCA has doubled the sales figure compared to its sales result in July last year.
In Last month, FCA has registered a total sales number of 1,120 units, while in the same month last year it sold 560 units. As we have said, the automobile group is betting big on the Jeep Compass to revive its sales in the Indian market. Considering the high demand of SUVs here and positive response of the Jeep Compass, it seems FCA is going at the right direction.

Despite being present in the domestic market for quite long time, Fiat couldn’t fetch an impressive sales result here. With the rising competition sales number of this Italian auto giant has dropped significantly. In June this year too, the company registered 210 units of sales marking a steep decline compared to the same month last year. But, thanks to the Jeep Compass it seems the scenario is about to change for the group.
FCA introduced the Jeep brand in the domestic market last year. But, due to the high pricing of its initial offerings Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Grand Cherokee, the automaker couldn’t fetch satisfactory numbers. Now, the brand is focusing on smaller and more affordable models. Launching the Jeep Compass here is a part of that strategy. Next in the lineup is the Jeep Renegade that is going to be more affordable SUV from the brand.

Jeep Compass comes aggressively priced at Rs. 14.95 lakh and Rs. 20.65 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). It is available with a 1.4-litre petrol engine and a 2.0-litre diesel engine options. Transmission options for this SUV include a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 7-speed automatic unit.
