Bugatti Developing A Special Edition “Controversial” Chiron

The limited edition model won’t be just about new colours as the company is working on something much more than that

Bugatti is currently working on a special edition of Chiron and the company hasn’t revealed much details about the special edition model. Even though they have previewed the model for some special guest and among them was a YouTube user named Whitesse JR. He signed a non-disclosure agreement to limit how much details he can reveal. The preview happened at the basement of a Beverly Hills Mansion.

According to Whitesse, the special model will be controversial. But he didn’t reveal why he called it like that. The production of new model will be limited and the power output is not going to be changed. So the limited edition model won’t be just new colours as the company is working on something much more than that.

Bugatti-ChironWe are expecting Bugatti to reveal the special edition model at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The hyper car manufacturer has revealed Chiron Sport at this year’s Geneva Motor Show which had so many changes but the engine remain to be same. The Sport model was 18 kg lighter than standard model as the company achieved this by using carbon fibre for wheels and intercooler cover.

The Chiron is also the world’s first model to use carbon fibre wipers which saves more than 70% weight compared to the standard wipers. Bugatti saved further weight by using lighter rear widows and exhaust deflector. The Chiron comes with dynamic handling package and a revised suspension which is stiffer as it uses a new control strategy for shock absorbers.

Bugatti is also offering lots of new exterior and interior colour options for Chiron Sport which make its stand out of the regular model. The Chiron is powered by 8.0 litre W16 engine with two stage quad turbochargers producing 1478 hp of power at 6,700 rpm and 1,600 Nm of torque between 2,000 – 6,000 rpm.

This engine is mated to 7 speed dual clutch transmission. 0-100 kph in 2.5 sec, 0-200 kph in 6.5 and 0-300 kph in 13.5 sec. The top speed of Chiron is limited to 420 kph. Bugatti confirmed that the engine can produce more power and better top speed but it is limited as they are planning for a world record top speed run in the coming months which will unleash its full potential.
