In the month of April 2023, we will more likely see the launch/debut of three SUVs in India. The Maruti Suzuki Fronx will go on sale next month while the Citroen C3 Aircross is expected to debut on April 27. Here is a detailed look at what is about to come:

1. Mahindra Thar New Base Variant:

A recent report that emerged on the internet indicates that a new entry-level variant of the three-door Mahindra Thar 4WD is in the works, following the launch of the RWD variant earlier this year. It could be named the AX AC and will be positioned below the AX (O) with the absence of a number of features.

2. Maruti Suzuki Fronx:

The month of April 2023 will see the market launch of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. The five-seater based on the Baleno premium hatchback is underpinned by the lightweight Heartect platform and it was unveiled at the 2023 Auto Expo in January. The compact SUV coupe derives power from a 1.2L NA petrol engine or a 1.0L three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine.

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx has already begun reaching dealerships and it will be sold exclusively through Nexa outlets. It is heavily influenced by the Grand Vitara in terms of design while the cabin will be loaded with equipment including a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, automatic climate control, six airbags, etc.

3. Citroen C3 Aircross:

Citroen has confirmed the world premiere of an all-new SUV on April 27, 2023 in India. It is expected to be a midsize SUV based on the C3 compact hatchback. To likely be dubbed the C3 Aircross, it will be more premium than the C3 to take on Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and so on.

The Citroen C3 Aircross will be underpinned by the familiar CMP platform and will likely feature the 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine found in the C3 producing a maximum power output of 110 hp and 190 Nm of peak torque. The interior will be more upmarket than the C3 with the inclusion of new technologies and features and the exterior will be heavily influenced by its smaller sibling.
