2022 MG Hector facelift will go on sale soon in India with a number of revisions inside and out including a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system

MG Motor India has today revealed another teaser of its updated Hector as images of the interior are out. The British manufacturer has said that it is conceptualized as a ‘Symphony of Luxury’, and is ‘designed to offer a cinematic and immersive experience complemented by handcrafted textures, soft-touch tactile, and versatile ambience on demand’.

The cabin comprises a brown-coloured layered dashboard with a leather finish while metallic accents and a thin red-coloured ambient lighting strip covers the width of the dashboard. The leather upholstered seats are done up in a dark tan shade further enhancing the premium nature of the SUV. You could also see a flat-bottom steering wheel with mounted controls, and an all-digital instrument cluster.

Previous teasers showed the existence of a redesigned front grille described as the “Argyle Inspired Diamond Mesh Grille” with a sleek LED Daytime Running on top and below which, chrome element can be noticed. Other highlights are a split LED headlamp cluster mounted on the bumper and a prominent lower central air inlet with a skid plate.

Learn how to describe the purpose of the image

The interior features a larger 14-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen infotainment system. The HD unit is the largest ever to be offered in India and it will compose the latest in-car connective features and technologies. We do expect the safety features list to be upgraded as well and Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) tech could also be part of the package.

It must be noted that the Astor already comes with Level 1 ADAS. The rear is expected to receive updates to the tail lamps and bumper while a set of newly designed 18-inch alloy wheels will also be provided. We do not expect any mechanical or dimensional changes to be presented though as the existing 1.5-litre turbo petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel could continue.

We hope to know more details about the 2022 MG Hector ahead of its market launch soon in India and it will compete in a toughly contested space. The pricing could also go slightly higher compared to the outgoing model.
