Mercedes Benz C-Class Cabriolet enters production; it was unveiled at 2016 Geneva Motor Show

German luxury auto manufacturer Mercedes Benz unveiled the C-Class Cabriolet at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Now the model has entered production. The car is being manufactured at the company’s Breman plant in Germany. Also alongside the car is being produced the C-Class Coupe, outgoing E-Class and the E-Class Cabriolet.

The Mercedes Benz C-Class Cabriolet looks similar like its coupe sibling. The only significant difference visible is the open top roof. Like the E-Class Coupe the Cabriolet has been designed to keep the weight minimized, which helps it in becoming fuel efficient, and faster as well. It comes with lightweight material on the hood, fenders and the boot lid as well.

The new comes featuring a retractable fabric soft top. The soft top is available in several different colour options like basic black, dark brown, dark blue and dark red.It can be opened and closed in less than 20 seconds at a 50 kmph cruising speed. The fabric roof has been based on the more premium S-Class Cabriolet.

On the design front the C-Class Cabriolet comes with LED headlamps, diamond pattern front grille. The car features a wide appearance. The rear profile comes equally stylish with the LED taillights. Inside the car it gets the standard C-Class sedan appearance. Like its coupe sibling the car also comes bearing sport seats. It has a 320 litres of boot space sans the roof, which minimizes to 285 litres with the roof closed.

Mercedes Benz C-Class Cabriolet comes available in both petrol and diesel engine options. There are a total of 6 petrol engine options between 1.6 litre four cylinder unit and a 3.0 litre six cylinder unit. The power output ranges between 156 bhp to 367 bhp. The 3.0 litre engine is due to deliver power for the AMG variant. A 9G-TRONIC automatic gearbox will do the transmission duty. The diesel engine is a 2.2 litre four cylinder unit churning our power output in two different tunes; 170 bhp and 204 bhp.
