The motorcycle will be powered by a 250cc, SOHC, air-cooled motor that has been borrowed from the K2C

Renowned custom bike builder – Zero Engineering is working on its new innovation that will be a single cylinder motorcycle. This bike will be an entry level one and with this, the company seems to ditch the ideology around V-twin engines due to which it has earned its name and fame. The firm was founded in the year 1992 by famous motorcycle builder Shinya Kimura who further got famous for customising some stunning V-twin masterpieces. In March, Zero Engineering showcased a single cylinder motorcycle at the Tokyo Motor Show. Later on, this philosophy continued in the company’s other models but the latest motorcycle seems to come in a small bundle.

Now, some pictures have emerged on the internet that show what could be the production version of the said single cylinder concept. The good thing is, the final spec model seems to be more practical and road biased in comparison to the concept model. Powering the motorcycle will the same 250cc engine that runs the K2C. While the concept ditched the turning winkers and the rear view mirrors, the road legal model has been fitted with the same. The exhaust set up that was a bizarre drum shaped one in the concept has been replaced by a more logical unit in the final version. Also, the registration number plate at the rear further confirms that this motorcycle will be road legal.

The SOHC, single cylinder, air-cooled unit is not designed for kick ass performance but is expected to show some decent numbers on the speedo. This motorcycle will likely be produced in great numbers by Zero Engineering. With this bike reaching production, it will be a big step forward by the firm that was earlier known for dealing with high end bikes only.

From the looks, the upcoming Zero Engineering single is highly inspired from the retro theme and has been fitted with a traditional headlamp up front. A chromed rounded rear view mirror, floating single saddle and bare body work are other visual highlights.
