Called the Red Dark Edition, the new top variants of the Tata Harrier and the Safari will be offered with a new touchscreen infotainment system and ADAS
Tata Motors showcased the new Tata Harrier Red Dark Edition and the Tata Safari Red Dark Edition at the recently concluded Auto Expo 2023. The two new models will be offered with a long list of updates including updated looks, new features and better safety tech. Both SUVs will soon be launched in the country and here are all the details you need to know about these models.
For starters, the new Red Dark Edition models will feature a ‘Red’ badging in addition to all-black exteriors and 18-inch alloy wheels with red brake callipers. Furthermore, it also gets red accents on the front grille and a few other exterior trim elements. Likewise, many changes have been made to the interiors as well.
To start with, the SUVs now get ‘Carnelian’ red seat upholstery with a quilted pattern, a black dashboard, and more. On the features front, the brands are now offering the Harrier and the Safari with a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 9-speaker JBL sound system, a fully digital instrument cluster and a 360-degree camera.
The new iterations of both the SUVs also get electric adjustment with memory function and ventilation function. Furthermore, the new Safari and the Harrier Red Dark Edition models also get an ADAS safety suite that includes features like autonomous emergency braking, forward and rear collision alerts, rear cross-traffic warning along with blind spot assist, traffic sign recognition and lane departure and lane change warnings.
In addition to this, other critical features like ESP and 6 airbags are also offered with both SUVs. Powering both SUVs will be the same 2.0L Diesel engine that churns out a peak power output of 168 hp while the maximum torque output stands at 350 Nm. This engine is offered with two gearbox options – a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AT.
For those wondering, no petrol engine options are on offer for the buyers. The rivals like the XUV700 however are offered with both petrol as well as diesel engine options.
