62018 Renault Duster
Renault Duster is the model which made the French manufacturer popular in Indian market. When the company introduced Duster, it was the only model in compact segment. Even thought it was a small SUV, the traditional muscular design along with good engines and VFM pricing are the reasons behind the popularity and right now it is the oldest model in its segment.
Renault officially revealed second generation Duster at Frankfurt Motor Show last year. The new model was expected to be launched earlier this year in India but the introduction of Captur which was positioned at similar range of Duster was the reason for the delay of new model as the company wants to give some time for Captur to gain some momentum in the market.

The second generation Duster is based on CMF-A platform of Renault which is designed and developed especially for cost sensitive markets like India. Globally also the Duster was a successful model for the company and the feedback from customers is that they don’t want the design of new generation model to be different from the initial Duster which is why Renault decided to continue with same body style of old model.
But the company has made lots of changes on front and rear to make the Duster look more modern. The muscular face of old model has been tuned to give a soft look for the Duster with new design for headlamp and bumper. The rear also gets a new LED tail lamp and new bumper which round of the exterior changes on new Duster.

The interior of Duster is completely new as the design gives a premium look for the cabin. The three spoke steering wheel is new along with updated instrument cluster. The centre console get touch screen and climate control is positioned below it. The AC vents get rectangle design which is different from the circular design on current model.
Renault will continue to use 1.5 L diesel and petrol engine options on the new Duster.
We are not expecting power output to change much and these engines will be mated to 5 speed manual and AMT gearbox options. The Duster will also get four wheel drive system on top end variant. Renault is expected to launch new Duster later this year in India.
