Maruti Suzuki has seen pretty good response in the MPV segment with the Ertiga. Now the automaker is planning to launch the 2018 Ertiga in India as it mades its global debut at Indonesia International Motor Show in April. The car is internally codenamed as YHA and it is expected to be launched commercially here in September. Upon arrival, this is certainly going to become a strong product in the UV segment of Indian auto market.

Speaking about its design, this car is expected to come significantly sharper and stylish compared to the current MPV. It is have a larger and restyle front grille flanked by sharper headlamps with projector lamps and integrated LED daytime running lights inspired by Toyota Innova Crysta. The front bumper gets large air intake with horizontal slat and at both ends of the bumper, there are neatly positioned fog lamps located at blackened housings. Expect the bumper to sport black cladding.

Moving to the side profile, this car is expected to receive black cladding and there will be sporty alloy wheels, sharper character lines, turn indicator integrated ORVMs, blackened glass area. As this vehicle is coming as a nine-seater model, it would arrive dimensionally larger than current Ertiga and wheelbase too will be longer. Rear profile of the car gets compact and vertically positioned taillights and there will be a chunky black bumper.

Inside the cabin, this upcoming car will deliver a premium vibe thanks to the design and features. It gets multifunction steering wheel, analog and digital display consisting instrument cluster. The large touchscreen at centre console will come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It will surely offer generous space and comfort to the occupants. Also, several advanced safety features are supposed to make their way into this model.

On the powertrain front, the Maruti YHA could get a 1.4-litre petrol engine and Suzuki’s 1.5-litre diesel engine instead of the tried and tested 1.3-litre oil burner available under the hood of the current Ertiga. However, it is not sure, if this will arrive with the new diesel motor or the engine will be introduced at later stage. Expect both the petrol and diesel engines to be re-tuned to deliver more power and torque output for this nine-seater model. Transmission options will include both manual and automatic gearbox, while fuel efficiency too will be improved.
