3Ford Kuga
Ford Kuga is going to be the next big product from the American brand in Indian market. This muscular and attractive looking SUV has already earned pretty good success in the European market. Inspired by the success of EcoSport and Endeavour, Ford aims to increase its market share in the highly competitive and highly in demand Indian SUV market and Kuga is going to play a key role in that strategy. Also, this will bridge the gap between the EcoSport and Endeavour in Ford India’s portfolio.
Upon launch, the Ford Kuga will compete with the rivals like Mahindra XUV500 and Hyundai Tucson. Speaking about its design, Kuga carries contemporary Ford design language. It gets a hexagonal black front grille with thick horizontal slats. The radiator grille is flanked by sharp headlamps with dual projector units along with integrated LED daytime running lights. The chunky front bumper comes with a large central air intake. Unusual shaped fog lamps are positioned at blackened fog lamp housings.

Moving to the side profile, the SUV carries subtle similarities with its smaller sibling EcoSport. There are flared wheel arches, sporty large alloy wheels, thick black cladding at the lower body, sharp character lines, turn indicator integrated ORVMs, blackened glass area. The roof rails enhance its sportiness further. The SUV gets wraparound LED taillights, a sculpted looking tailgate along with chunky bumper and twin round shaped exhausts. Overall, the SUV appears pretty attractive from every angle and it will certainly grab attention of the buyers.
Moving inside the cabin, the Ford Kuga gets a sporty and premium vibe through the design and features. It boasts an all-black theme, multifunction steering wheel, dual-pod instrument cluster with analog dials and digital MID at centre. The center console gets a large touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and android Auto. Apart from that, the layered dashboard, unique shaped AC vents, arm rests, upmarket quality seat and upholstery materials enhance its appeal further. It offers generous amount of space and comfort and the SUV is loaded with advanced safety features.

Ford Kuga is available in both petrol and diesel engine options in the global market. The India-spec SUV is expected to come available with a 1.5-litre EcoBoost petrol engine and a 2.0-litre TDCi diesel engine as well. The petrol engine kicks out 148 bhp of peak power and 240 Nm of peak torque. The diesel motor is tuned to deliver power and torque output in two different states of tune. It generates 147 bhp and 177 bhp of peak power alongside 370 Nm and 400 Nm of peak torque respectively. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed automatic unit as well.
