While Tata Nano EV would be the entry level electric car from Tata Motors, the Tiago EV would arrive as a more premium model. Tata Tiago regular model has already garnered pretty much attention and positive response from the buyers. At the LCV 2017, Tata Motors has displayed the Tiago EV concept that appears as attractive as the regular model and it could arrive in the country by 2020. Upon launch, this would play important role in making Tata Motors a major player in the Indian EV market.

Speaking about the design, Tata Tiago EV gets identical design as the internal combustion engine powered model. It gets a smiling pattern black front grille with sleek chrome trim at the bottom, sharp headlamps, a sculpted looking front bumper with black air intake featuring a horizontal slat through the centre, chrome bezel around fog lamps.
As the Tata Tiago EV Concept has been showcased, it gets the same design at side profile as well.

Rear profile of the Tata Tiago EV gets wraparound taillights, roof spoiler and there is a chunky bumper as well. However, the production model could arrive with some distinctive design elements that will make it slightly different looking compared to the regular model that is powered by internal combustion engine. While the exterior of the Tata Tiago EV remains same, its interior also appears with the same basic design and features. However, there are little bit of extra control buttons inside the cabin compared to the regular model.

This electric powertrain equipped Tata Tiago is expected to come weighing lighter than the standard model presently available in the market. Expect upmarket quality materials to be used in seat and upholstery. Space too is likely to remain same as the current model. Developed by Tata Motors European Technical Centre based in UK, the Tiago electric hatchback draws energy from an 85 kW capacity electric motor.

It is likely to be priced between Rs. 8 lakh and Rs. 10 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Expected India Launch: 2020 Expected India Price: Rs. 8 lakh – Rs. 10 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi)
