Maruti Vitara Brezza Review-3

Maruti Suzuki has seen immense success with its compact SUV, Vitara Brezza. This unique looking SUV has earned positive response and very impressive sales result within short period of time. This car has grabbed the top spot of the UV segment of Indian car market in very short span after launch. Currently available in diesel options only, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is about to receive a petrol engine as well that will enhance its appeal further. This petrol powered version of the compact SUV is expected to launch in the country during festive season this year.

The only change here will be the powertrain compared to the current model. It will have a 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbocharged petrol engine that is available under the hood of the Maruti Suzuki’s performance oriented premium hatchback Baleno RS. The engine is capable of churning out 100.5 bhp of peak power and 150 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duty will be done by a 5-speed manual gearbox. Alongside the impressive performance, this engine will also offer attractive fuel efficiency.

The current model gets power from a Fiat sourced 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine that is coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission and churns out 89 bhp of peak power at 4,000 rpm and 200 Nm of peak torque at 1,750 rpm. This engine also generates 24.29 kmpl of fuel efficiency. However, in terms of design and features, the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza petrol model will remain same as the diesel model. Up front, it will have projector headlamps with integrated LED bullhorn pattern daytime running lights.

The front grille will come with a thick horizontal chrome bar and there will be hexagonal mesh at the central air intake. The front bumper will have a muscular appearance with neatly positioned fog lamps at the black housing and there will be a skid plate as well. At the side profile, it will bear black cladding, sporty alloy wheels, crisp character lines, turn indicator integrated ORVMs, blackened glass area and a complete floating roof design. The rear profile will also come identical to the diesel model. It will have compact taillights, a roof spoiler, a thick chrome tailgate handlebar and a chunky bumper with skid plate.
