Honda is not only aiming to challenge the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 with its Rebel 300 model, but there will be a larger sibling of the modern cruiser as well, christened as Rebel 500. This motorcycle will challenge Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500. As it seems, Honda is keen to grab a good chunk in the premium Indian two-wheeler space with these Rebel series. Like its smaller sibling, the Rebel 500 too would be priced competitive in a bid to grab attention of the Indian buyers.

Ahead of its commercial launch here in India, Honda is expected to showcase the 500 c modern cruiser at the bike mania in 2018. This motorcycle shares similar design with its smaller sibling Rebel 300. There is a round shaped headlamp, single-pod instrument cluster with digital display, a sloping and chunky fuel tank adding masculine stance to the machine.

The wide handlebars and low positioned seat ensures greater control for the rider over the machine. Apart from that, the well cushioned seat also offers comfort riding experience. It gets LED taillight, a chunky exhaust muzzle. The motorcycle runs on black alloy wheels and the engine bay is completely blackened out.

For braking duty, the Honda Rebel 300 is equipped with disc brakes on both front and rear wheels. Expect the motorcycle to receive dual channel ABS that will enhance safety of the rider and the machine as well. Suspension setup too comes shared with the smaller sibling Rebel 300.

Power source for the Honda Rebel 500 will be a 471 cc parallel-twin engine sourced from CB500R. Transmission duty will be done by a 6-speed gearbox and the engine is expected to kick out generous amount of power and torque output along with impressive fuel efficiency. So far, this is going to be a very exciting product from the Japanese brand in the Indian market and it will certainly help the two-wheeler major to grab more market share.
