Toyota is the Most Valuable Car Brand of the World in Forbes List

On the overall top valuable brands list Toyota sits at number #6

Japanese automaker Toyota is certainly the most sold and largest automaker brand in Asia and in a large part of the world as well. Now the automaker has achieved another feat by becoming the top valuable car brand of the world by being at number #6 of the “2016 Forbes Most Valuable Brands of the World” list.

In the overall list the Toyota left behind the other auto manufacturers like BMW at #14, Mercedes Benz at #20, Honda at #23, Ford at #35, Audi at #36, Chevrolet at #59, Lexus at #63; Porsche, Nissan and Hyundai at #67, #70 and #71 respectively. Very interestingly, one of the largest auto manufacturers of the world the Volkswagen sits at #77, which is certainly not so heartwarming news for the German automaker.

No wonder the infamous “Dieselgate” has taken a great toll on Volkswagen’s brand value, after the scam revealed that the automaker has been selling cars fitted with an emission cheating software which was significantly lowering the gas emission in controlled testing environments only, therefore polluting the environment across the world. The Volkswagen AG has reason of relief albeit; as its subsidiary brand like Audi, Porsche is positioned up on the list.

Toyota Motor Corporation started automobile manufacturing in 1930’s and since then it has been one of the major automaker in the world. Later in post world war II era the brand became a large player around the globe. In Indian market the automaker sells its cars as Toyota Kirloskar Motors. In Indian market the brand has some very popular models like Toyota Innova and Toyota Fortuner.

The Toyota Innova has been the top selling and most popular MPV of India for a decade, while in the SUVs the Toyota Fortuner is a very widely selling model in the country. In recent times the company’s business in the country has taken a hit albeit, due to the ban on 2000 cc and above diesel engines in Delhi-NCR and Kerala.
