2017 Toyota Innova Touring Sport Launched From Rs. 17.79 Lakh

Toyota Innova Touring Sport comes distinctive than its regular sibling thanks to new styling elements; mechanically remains identical to the standard model

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched an all-new variant of the very popular Innova Crysta in India christened as the Touring Sport and it comes with distinctive and sportier styling compared to its regular sibling. A similar version of the MPV is already on sale in the Indonesian market and seeing the MPV’s popularity here, Toyota India has decided to add the Touring Sport variant to its portfolio.

Toyota Innova Crysta already comes with a premium appeal rather than just a mundane people mover. With the new Touring Sport variant being introduced, the MPV has become more attractive. Celebrating an year since the regular MPV was launched, the Touring Sport has been making headlines for quite a while now and finally it is available for sale across all Toyota dealerships in India with bookings beginning today along with vehicle display.

Lauded as the “flagship model”, the Touring Sport has been conceptualized, designed and developed for the young and modern customers according to the brand. Toyota hopes the sporty variant will set new benchmarks in its competitive segment and here we take a closer look at all the facts and figures about the Innova Touring Sport:

Toyota Innova Touring Sport India Price

The base Touring Sport petrol manual is priced at Rs. 17.79 lakh and it goes up to Rs. 22.15 lakh for the diesel AT  (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

Innova Touring Sport Exterior & Dimension 

The Touring Sport variant of the MPV is available in an exclusive Wildfire (Red) colour along with the White Pearl Crystal Shine. In terms of design, it will incorporate Black body cladding on the front bumper and side profile too. The cladding will wear shiny chrome trims enhancing appeal further. The headlamps and front remain identical, but the extensive chrome garnishing is unmistakable.
At the side profile, the Touring Sport variant gets side skirts giving it a bolder appearance, while the ORVMs and side cladding features chrome embellishment. Moving to the rear fascia, the black cladding with chrome trim is visible but not fully covering the rear bumper. Apart from that, a thick shiny black bar is present joining the taillights and there are chrome surrounds on the reflectors. It will run on new-designed 17-inch black alloy wheels.

Innova Touring Sport Ground Clearance 

The Toyota Innova Touring Sport comes with a generous ground clearance of 174 mm.

Innova Touring Sport Interior 

Inside the cabin too, changes have been made to make it different than the regular model. The Toyota Innova Touring Sport will be sold exclusively in six-seater option and the captain seats will come wrapped in premium black leather. The upholstery and floor mat seem to have got some exclusive sporty touches too.

The important interior features are Exclusive Red Illuminating 3D Design Combination Meter with large TFT Multi Information Display, steering wheel with black-wood and sporty red stitch, red wood pattern on instrument panel, black wood finish rear door inner garnish, seat back table and console box, sporty red stitch on seat, console box, shift lever boot (MT) and parking brake boot.

Innova Touring Sport Engine Specifications

The Toyota Innova Touring Sport is offered across a range of engine options to enable customers with different options to choose from. Power source includes a 2.7-litre petrol engine, a 2.4-litre GD diesel engine and a larger and more powerful 2.8-litre GD diesel engine as well.

Transmission options for the MPV include a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed automatic unit with sequential shift as well. However, the engine, power output and torque output along with fuel efficiency and top speed of the Toyota Innova Touring Sport remain unchanged. The engines offer Eco & Power drive modes.

The 2.4-litre 2GD-FTV four-cylinder, inline, 16V diesel engine with VNT Intercooler produces 150 PS at 3,400 rpm and 343 Nm of torque between 1,400 and 2,800 rpm on MT while 2.8-litre GD engine delivers 174 PS at 3,400 rpm with 360 Nm of torque on the AT variants delivered between 1,200 and 3,400 rpm. The petrol engine is a 2.7-litre four-cylinder with Dual VVT-i producing 166 PS and 245 Nm of torque with MT and AT options.

Toyota Innova Touring Sport Safety Features

Standard Safety Features include Antilock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), height adjustable Seatbelt with Pre Tensioner and Force Limiter for front seat, three-point seatbelt for all occupants & Child restraint system (ISOFIX). Other grade specific safety techs are Seven Airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Hill-start Assist Control (HAC).
