Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced the price increase of its Innova Crysta MPV just a few months after the yearly price bump at the start of the year. Immediately effective, the new prices impact all the variants as the manual gearbox equipped trims see Rs. 28,000 price increase while the AT versions endure Rs. 31,000 hike compared to the previous prices.
Starting from the entry-level ‘G’, mid variant ‘V’ and top-end ‘Z’ in a total of 12 trims, Toyota regularly offers ABS, EBD as well as dual front and driver knee airbags as standard. As for the powertrain, the latest ‘GD’ series diesel engines are paired to five-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmissions.

Toyota sells a 2.7-litre VVT-i petrol engine as well. The 2.4-litre 2GD-FTV four-cylinder, inline, 16V diesel engine with VNT Intercooler develops 150 PS at 3,400 rpm and 343 Nm of torque between 1,400 and 2,800 rpm on MT versions. The 2.8-litre GD engine makes 174 PS at 3,400 rpm with 360 Nm of torque on the automatic versions.
The 2.7-litre four-cylinder petrol motor kicks out 166 PS and 245 Nm of torque with MT and AT options. The claimed mileage for 2.4 and 2.8 diesel engines stand at 15.10 kmpl and 14.29 kmpl respectively while petrol engine is rated with close to 10 kmpl fuel economy.

The five-door MPV is based on Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform and it measures 4,735 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width, 1,795 mm in height and 2,750 mm in wheelbase. On the outside, the Innova Crysta features frameless dual-slat chrome grille housed in the hexagonal radiator assembly. There is a set of sleek LED projector headlamps, wide bonnet, unique shoulder lines, etc.
The side profile has 17-inch alloy wheels and the prominent wheel arches offer a compelling attentiveness. The quirky rear glass area gives a sporty appearance and the rear profile gets LED tail lamps and other sporty structural elements like roof-mounted spoiler with integrated stop lights, roundish exhaust system and so on.

The interiors of the Toyota Innova Crysta is almost in line with that of Fortuner’s with similar dashboard and instrument panel getting a blue ambient light alongside wooden touches. The eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system comprises of DLNA, web browser, smartphone connectivity, Air gesture and Miracast. Moreover, chilled glovebox and automatic climate control are offered in the top-spec variants as well.
