The SUV faces a steep price hike of Rs. 49,000 across all variants as Toyota increases prices due to increase in custom duty on import parts

Along with the Innova Crysta, the Toyota Fortuner has seen a price increase of Rs. 49,000 across the range. The base variant is retailed at Rs. 28,29,000 for the base model and it goes up to Rs. 32,63,000 for the range-topping variant (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The SUV comprises of seven variants, with four two-wheel drive variants and three four-wheel drive variants.

They are 4×2 MT (p), 4×2 AT (p), 4×2 MT (d), 4×2 AT (d), 4×4 MT (P), 4×4 MT (d) and 4×4 AT (d). They are accompanied by a TRD Sportivo edition with exterior enhancements. This price hike is vary from city to city and TKM reached one nation one price for Fortuner in India.

The GD series 2.8 litre diesel engine returns mileage of 14.24 kmpl (MT) & 12.9 kmpl (AT) and has the capacity to pump out 177 PS of power at 3,400 rpm and 450 Nm of torque between 1,600 and 2,400 rpm whereas the manual versions have 30 Nm less torque with the same power generation. A six-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters is employed in the top-end models while a six-speed manual is provided as standard.

Both 2WD and 4WD options are available as well. The 2.7-litre four-cylinder Dual VVTi petrol, on the other hand, produces 166 bhp at 5,200 rpm and 245 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm with mileage figures of 10.01 kmpl (MT) & 10.26 kmpl (AT). The engine is connected to a five-speed manual or a six-speed auto with paddle shifters and is available only in the 2WD configuration.

It is sold in seven colour options namely White Pearl, Silver, Gray, Attitude Black, Nebula Blue, Phantom Brown and Avant-grade Bronze. The latest Toyota Fortuner is based on the Innovative International Multi-purpose Vehicle (IMV) platform and has improved off-roading credentials.

The exterior has quirky pillar cuts and a slightly sloped roof along with sleek front fascia featuring V-shaped triple-slat grille with chrome touches, LED projector headlamps with DRLs and 18-inch alloy wheels.
