The Hero Splendor led the August 2026 motorcycle sales chart with a domestic tally of 3,53,842 units as its numbers were up 13.52 per cent from 3,11,698 units a year earlier. The Honda Shine held the second place at 1,80,626 units and grew 10.16 per cent from 1,63,963 units as both models utterly dominated the proceedings.
The top 10 motorcycles together reached 9,27,578 units with an increase of 45,704 units over August 2025. The Bajaj Pulsar range ranked third with 97,839 units – down 10.55 per cent from 1,09,382 units recorded during the same period twelve months ago. The Hero HF Deluxe followed with 69,794 units and posted a steeper 22.25 per cent decline from 89,762 units.
The two models together lost 31,511 units compared with the same month last year. The TVS Apache series recorded the highest percentage gain in the ranking. Its sales climbed 22.39 per cent to 55,123 units from 45,038 units with an increase of 10,085 units. The Royal Enfield Classic 350 placed sixth with 43,428 units and grew 20.55 per cent from 36,025 units.

The TVS Raider finished seventh at 37,002 units against 33,434 units last year with a rise of 10.67 per cent. The Honda CB Unicorn followed in the eighth position at 35,394 units and recorded 20.91 per cent growth from 29,274 units. The Royal Enfield Bullet 350 stood ninth with 27,533 units – up 13.83 per cent from 24,188 units.
After a very long time, RE featured two models within the top ten as it underscores the brand’s good reception amongst consumers mainly in the entry-level middleweight category. The Bajaj Platina completed the top 10 with a total of 26,997 units. Its sales fell 30.97 per cent from 39,110 units in August 2025 – the highest percentage decline among these ten motorcycles.

The entry-level commuter lost 12,113 units on a year on year basis and the HF Deluxe recorded the largest absolute decline at 19,968 units. The major contribution to the overall increase came from Splendor. Its gain of 42,144 units came close to the entire net increase of 45,704 units recorded by the top 10.
