SWM is an Italian Manufacturer which focuses on building adventure bikes and it is founded in 1971. But the company had to cease its operation in 1984 which is why most of the people have not heard much the brand much. In 2014, the brand again started its operation with Ampelio Macchi as head by unveiling six new models at EICMA.
According to some media reports, SWM was planning to enter Indian market, but the company didn’t make any official announcements. During the Great Adventure Trail in Pune, SWM showcased SuperDual T which confirms that the company is going to enter Indian market. The SuperDual T is positioned in middle class adventure motorcycle category. With the introduction of Triumph, BMW Motorrad and other manufacturers, adventure motorcycle segment is growing at a rapid pace like sports bike segment.

SWM SuperDual T is powered by 600 cc single cylinder liquid cooled engine producing 57 ps of power and this engine is mated to a 6 speed gearbox. The braking duties are carried out by 300 mm front disc and 200mm rear disc with hydraulic control and floating calliper. To keep the weight down, SWM has used high strength steel round pipes with single beam double cradle for the main frame and light alloy for rear frame.
The dry weight of the SuperDual T is 169 kg only which helps the bike to be agile in off-road conditions. The SuperDual T gets upside down telescopic hydraulic fork with advanced axle and rebound damping adjustment and the rear is mono shock with spring pre-load, compression and damping adjustment. SWM has given 19 inch front wheels with 110 section tyre and 17 inch wheels at rear with 140 section tyre at rear.

For excellent grip on both on and off-road, SuperDual T comes with Metzeler Tourance tyres. The SuperDual T showcased in India comes with windscreen, trail rack, auxiliary lamps, crash guard and twin hard case. According to reports, all these accessories are part of standard fitment, which will make SuperDual T even more attractive. SWM SuperDual T competes against Benelli TNT 600 GT and Kawasaki Versys 650.
