Have you heard about Scomadi Scooters? Well, chances are maybe less, unless you are a hardcore scooter enthusiast. Scomadi is a British Bespoke scooter manufacturer which was founded in 2005 by two scooter legends Frank Sanderson of Scooter Innovation Ltd and Paul Melici of PM Tuning Ltd. United, Frank and Paul. The British manufacturer entered mass production in 2009 with the launch of Scomadi Turismo Leggera 250. Currently the company has products such as TL200, TL200i, TL50, TL125 and TT125.
Scomadi scooters are coming to India and the company has appointed Pune based AJ Performance as its official distributor. They have experience in customisation, sourcing parts of luxury and performance cars. In India, Scomadi will start its operations with TT125 which will be imported from Thailand where its manufacturing plant is located. The design of TT125 is the standout feature as it reminds us of old Lambretta scooters with modern features like LED headlight and tail light with fully digital instrument cluster.

The TT125 is powered by 125 cc engine which is sourced from Aprilia and this engine comes from Italy and bolted to TT 125 in Thailand. But this 125 cc engine is not the same one found on Aprilia 125 as the dimension and strokes are different. The 125 cc unit is an air-cooled engine with Delphi fuel injection and produces 11 bhp of power at 7300 rpm and mated to CVT automatic transmission. If you want to further improve performance, then Scomadi is happy to remap and upgrade the exhaust to produce 15 bhp but this is currently not offered in India. The braking duties are carried out by Nissin 220 mm disc at front and 200 mm disc at rear with dual channel ABS.
The engineers want Scomadi ride to be plush so instead of regular suspension, Scomadi went with two hydraulic preload adjustable shock absorbers with coil springs at the front and coil spring with four step preload shocks at rear. The TT 125 gets 12 inch alloy wheels with 110 section tyre at front and 120 section at rear with Pirelli Angel Scooter rubber. Scomadi also offer customising colour options with TT 125 and it will take three months to deliver customized TT 125.

In India, Scomadi TT 125 will be priced at Rs. 1.98 Lakh (Ex-Showroom, Pune) which is very steep for a scooter, but considering that it’s a life style product, we can expect the TT 125 to be popular and the future products from Scomadi will depend on the success of TT 125. Customers can book TT 125 via AJ performance store in Pune and soon they will open a dedicated dealership with work shop facilities.
