The company has just started production for this much anticipated electric sedan and first 30 owners will get delivery of the car on 28th July 2017. They will be given to choose between wheel options as well.
Tesla CEO revealed the image of the first production Model 3 in a tweet. The Model 3 is the first mass market car from the American EV manufacturer and it is also the third vehicle from the brand after the Model S and Model X. Priced from $35,000 (Rs. 22,57,850), the Tesla Model 3 is expected to play a very important role for the company’s growth as with this car, Tesla is aiming to enter several new markets including India.
Thanks to the potential and projection of the Model 3, Tesla managed to double its share price between December 2016 and June 2017. The company claims that its global sales increased to 47,100 in the first six months of 2017.
Model 3 is going to be the first Tesla car in India and the EV is likely to arrive in the country around late 2017. It is already in talks with the Indian government to get a temporary tax exemption on the import of vehicles. Apart from that, the brand is also aiming to set up a production plant in the country depending on the success of the Model 3 here. Upon launch, this plant could be an export hub for Tesla’s other Asian markets.
No wonder, with arrival of Tesla Model 3 Indian electric vehicle market will see a major boost. It could play an important role in India’s green car project as the government is ambitious about introducing electric mobility by 2032 across the country.
