Porsche Panamera Turbo S-E Hybrid will use the same 4.0L V8 as the standard Turbo but connected with an electric motor to make 671 bhp and 850 Nm torque
Porsche India introduced the 2017 Panamera range back in March and understanding the good response among customers, there are preparing to launch new versions. Porsche is taking orders for the new Panamera range but the customer delivery will only commence in the early parts of next year.
The Panamera Turbo S-E Hybrid gets power from the same 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine that can be found under the bonnet of the new generation Panamera Turbo. But as being a hybrid, the V8 motor is connected to a electric motor capable of producing 134 bhp. Therefore, summing them all together, the total power output stands at 671 bhp and a massive 850 Nm peak torque.

The petrol-electric powertrain is linked to an eight-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) automatic gearbox transferring power to both the axles. If the performance figures do not enthrall you, an option of Sport Chrono pack will make the Panamera Turbo S E-hybrid even faster as the zero to 100 kmph acceleration time is claimed at just 3.4 seconds.
The regular Panamera Turbo is priced in India at Rs. 1.93 crore while the increased wheelbase, the Turbo Executive, carries a price of Rs. 2.05 crore (ex-showroom, Maharashtra). In a similar fashion, the S-E Hybrid gets a long wheelbase Executive version – 150 mm longer with 2950 mm wheelbase.

Porsche has indeed listed the Panamera E-Hybrid series on its domestic website indicating a probable launch at a later time. As for the exterior, the new hybrid Porsches visually remain identical to their standard siblings but their hybrid character is uniquely differentiated. The sporty red brake calipers are ditched in favour of neon green coloured calipers while the E-Hybrid badge can be seen on the doors with green highlights.
The Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo, on the other hand, uses a 14.1 kWh lithium-ion battery to power the electric motor. It requires a standard 3.6 kW charger and a 230 V, 10 A connection, to charge the battery to full capacity in 6 hours. It can be reduced to just 2.4 hours by opting for 7.2 kW charger, a 230 V and 32 A connection. It also gets a Sport Chrono Package elevating its system capacity to a top speed of 310 kmph.
