New Swift Dzire is expected to be launched ahead of its hatchback sibling sometime next year; design will be a complete evolution of the existing model
Maruti Suzuki is readying the all-new Swift Dzire, which is expected to launch sometime during middle parts of next year. It will arrive in dealerships ahead of its hatchback sibling on which the car is based, the new generation Swift. The test mule of upcoming Swift Dzire has been already spotted on Indian roads, and now Cartoq has published a rendered image previewing the upcoming compact sedan.
The 2017 Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire takes design inspiration from the new generation Swift. It sports sharper look and delivers an upmarket vibe compared to outgoing model. The front fascia gets revised headlamps with LED daytime running lights integrated. The front grille and front bumper has been revised as well. So far, it looks more aggressive than the outgoing model.

Side profile and rear fascia of upcoming Maruti Suzuki Swift will come updated, but basic silhouette remains same. Inside the cabin new Swift Dzire is expected to come more upmarket looking with updated features and new styling as well. It will get a new multifunction steering wheel, redesigned dual pod instrument cluster with a digital MID as well. Apart from a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and SmartPlay is on card. Dashboard is expected to don a revised appearance with circular AHVAC vents, while seat and upholstery material will receive update also.
The car will get both petrol and diesel engine options from the outgoing model. Therefore a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.3-litre diesel engine will generate power for this car. Power and torque output are also likely to remain same. A SHVS mild-hybrid technology could be introduced, while the car is also expected to get a 1.0-litre Boosterjet petrol engine. On transmission front it will come available with both manual gearbox and AMT options.

2017 Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire will pretty much lightweight compared to the outgoing model, thanks to a new platform shared with Maruti Suzuki Baleno. Due to the reduced weight new Swift Dzire will deliver improved fuel economy. On safety front it will come equipped with dual front airbags, ABS, EBD etc. The car will be manufactured at the company’s new plant in Gujarat.
