The new Hyundai Santro will launch on 23 October 2018 and will rival the Maruti Wagon R, Tata Tiago, and Renault Kwid 1.0 and it has good chances of being a great success

Hyundai Motors India Ltd will launch the new Hyundai Santro on 23 October 2018. It will be a replacement for the slow-selling Hyundai Eon and will become a direct rival to the Maruti Rival, Tata Tiago, and Renault Kwid 1.0.

The new A2-segment hatchback has been largely revealed in many new spy images. Going by these pics, the company seems to have another winner in its hands.

Here’s why we think the new Hyundai Santro will mirror the success of its predecessor –

AMT – The new Hyundai Santro will become the company’s first car to be available with an optional AMT automatic. There is a growing demand for automatic cars and availability of an automatic transmission should work in favour of the new entry-level model. The AMT for the new model will be marketed as ‘Smart Auto’. The same transmission is rumoured to be headed to the next generation Hyundai Grand i10 and i20 as well.

Modern Design – As can be seen in our latest spy images, the new Hyundai Santro looks very modern and stylish. Its design language seems to be a vast improvement over the last generation i10, the model it is loosely based on. At the front-end, there is a stylish pair of headlights that flank a cascading grille. The rear has a sporty profile and gives the car a funky look.

Touchscreen infotainment system – In a day where technology drives many aspects of our lives, touchscreen infotainment units, especially those that support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, have become an important need for many car buyers.

So far, the cheapest models to be sold with this feature are the Maruti Ignis and the Hyundai Grand i10. But guess what, even the new Hyundai Santro will get this ‘premium’ feature on its top-end model.

Premium Dashboard – The interior of the new Hyundai Santro has a dual tone black-beige colour scheme, which makes it look quite premium. Like the previous i10, the gear level is mounted close to the dashboard. The dashboard itself has a very clean layout and imparts a touch of premiumness to the cabin of the new model.
