Maruti Suzuki is preparing to take ADAS technology deeper into its model range, and the Fronx could be one of the next cars to receive the technology. Suzuki’s broader strategy is to make advanced driver assistance systems available across a wider range of vehicles, including models aimed at more price-conscious buyers.
This marks a significant shift for Maruti Suzuki. The company has traditionally focused on keeping technology and safety features accessible without adding too much cost to its mass-market cars. Its latest products, however, show that ADAS is gradually becoming part of that strategy.
The Fronx is among the models expected to benefit from Suzuki’s expanding ADAS strategy. The international-spec Fronx already offers ADAS in some markets, including features such as autonomous emergency braking and lane-keeping assistance. The India-spec Fronx currently does not offer the same ADAS package. Its existing equipment includes features such as cruise control on higher variants, while Suzuki’s broader connected-car technology is already available on the model.

Maruti Suzuki has already taken a major step in this direction with the e Vitara, which gets Level 2 ADAS. Its system includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring and Automatic Emergency Braking. The electric SUV also gets seven airbags as standard. The company has also been expanding safety equipment across its mainstream range. Maruti recently stated that six airbags are standard across 16 models and 160 variants, describing the move as part of its effort to make advanced safety more accessible.
The more interesting part of Suzuki’s approach is that ADAS is not being treated purely as a premium-car feature. The company is looking at ways to introduce the technology across different segments while keeping its vehicles accessible. The updated Baleno is a good example of where this strategy is heading. The facelifted hatchback has received Level 2 ADAS using radar and camera technology, along with other upgrades such as ventilated front seats.

That opens up the possibility of ADAS eventually appearing on more Maruti models, rather than being restricted to SUVs and expensive variants. India is particularly important to this plan because Maruti Suzuki sells vehicles across almost every major price band, from entry-level hatchbacks to premium SUVs. Bringing ADAS to lower segments would allow Suzuki to spread the technology across a much larger customer base.
