Maruti Suzuki records highest ever sales as Baleno and recently launched Vitara Brezza are selling in large numbers

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has finished the month of July 2016 with a total sales of 1,25,778 units, an encouraging sign considering the struggle it met the previous month as the retail dropped by 10 percent. The largest car maker in the country sold 1,10,405 units in June 2015 which in comparison to last month is nearly 15,000 examples less.

Therefore, at a growth of 13.9 percent Maruti Suzuki hit the home run with the highest ever recorded sales in Indian marketplace. Adding up the number of models exported, the figures increase to 1,37,116 units at a year-on-year growth of 12.7 percent – 1,21,712 units sold in July 2015. Breaking down the numbers, you could easily come to a conclusion that the recently launched models have been reaping benefits for the Indo-Japanese conglomerate.

The entry-level models such as Alto and tall-riding WagonR endured a total delivery of 35,051 units which is 7.2 percent down compared to the same time last year with 37,752 units. The other top-sellers in the car lineage like the compact Swift twins, affordable automatic hatchback Celerio, Ritz and the premium hatchback Baleno combined together to register 4.1 percent up in sales.

Celebrating one year since the first batch of Nexa showrooms’ setup, Maruti revealed last month that more than a lakh units of Baleno and the S-Cross found new homes. The Baleno has been a mainstay in the top ten sales charts and is attributed with driving sales from the premium end of the spectrum. The Omni and Eeco have had their fair share of support in the sales growth as together 14,478 units were sold at a climb of 24 percent.
