Maruti Ciaz sales increased by 146%; the brand saw 14% rise in overall sales with 1,25,764 units sold in July 2016
Maruti Suzuki is the largest auto manufacturer in India. It is also the most popular automotive brand in the country. The Indo Japanese car maker has a range of models, among which most are very popular across different segments. The company has seen a 14% increase in overall sales chart in July 2016. It has sold a total of 1,25,764 units in July 2016 compared to 1,10,405 units in same month last year.
The Ciaz sedan is Maruti Suzuki’s attempt in the premium segment. The stylish sedan has seen a very impressive 146% rise in its sales in July 2016. The car has sold 5,162 units in last month compared to 2099 units in same month last year. The Ritz hatchback has seen a 66% rise in sales with 3,346 units sold in last month compared to 2011 units in July 2015.

The Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 has been a very popular model, bearing the legacy of the iconic Maruti 800. The car has received a facelift few months back. It has sold 19844 units in last month compared to 22,212 units in same month last year, marking a 11% decline.
The Wagon-R is another popular hatchback across the country from the automaker. It has also seen a 2% decline with 15,207 units sold in July 2016. The car sold 15,540 units in the same month, last year.

Interestingly, both the Omni and Gypsy being quite dated models are still fetching some success stories in terms of sales. In last month these two models have sold 8,564 units and 156 units marking 15% and 25% rise respectively. The company launched the S-Cross last year. This car has seen a 76% decline in sales with only 369 units sold in July, 2016 compared to 1510 units in same month, last year.

Both the Vitara Brezza and the Baleno comes two significant models from the automaker. These cars have sold 10,232 units and 9,120 units in last month. The Maruti Suzuki Swift another vehemently popular model alongside its sedan sibling Swift Dzire. Both these cars recorded 26% and 17% sales decline in last month.
