Mahindra XUV500 Becomes More Aggressive with ‘Mad Men’ Accessories

Mahindra XUV500 is a very aggressive looking SUV from the largest SUV manufacturer of India. But some buyers are not satisfied with the stock model and they want to give the SUV a distinctive and more aggressive look with customisation. Motormind Automotive Designs, based out of Bengaluru has built an accessory kit for the SUV and christened it as ‘Mad Men’.

The accessory kit includes several custom parts to enhance the aggressiveness and masculinity of the XUV500. The kit comes priced at Rs. 1.58 lakh and it includes parts like a custom front grille with honeycomb mesh, new front bumper with chunkier appearance and separate LED daytime running lights and larger air intake.

Apart from that, the ‘Mad Men’ accessory kit it also gets a hood scoop, matte black alloy rims, pair of roof lights, a custom bold rear bumper along with faux diffuser, separate LED taillight, rear spoiler and slanted twin exhaust pipes with chrome finished tips. The accessory kit is available in options like matte wrap and chrome wraps or body coloured accessories.

With all these custom body parts, the SUV becomes more appealing indeed. However, mechanically, the XUV 500 remains same, as it draws power from the powerful 2.2-litre turbocharged mHawk 140 diesel engine capable of churning out 140 PS of peak power and 330 Nm of peak torque. The engine is coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission and there is an Aisin-sourced 6-speed automatic gearbox as well.

Currently, Mahindra is planning to roll out the XUV Aero as an electric vehicle. Showcased at the 2016 New Delhi Auto Expo and later at Automobile Barcelona 2017, the coupe SUV concept has garnered positive response. If launched as an electric vehicle, this will surely boost the Indian government’s dream of electric mobility. However, the homegrown auto major is yet to confirm the production of this car.
