Mahindra Scorpio gets Intelli-Hybrid System in Delhi-NCR; it is sold with 1.99-litre mHAWK diesel engine in as an after effect of diesel ban
Mahindra Scorpio is sold with a 1.99-litre mHAWK diesel engine in Delhi-NCR. And the automaker has introduced the Intelli-Hybid technology to the Scorpio in the national capital, at a starting price of Rs. 9.35 lakh (ex-showroom). Being equipped with the mild-hybrid technology, the car comes with reduced fuel consumption by up to 7%.
Also, being a mild-hybrid car, it will be sold with a concessional VAT of 5% for the Delhi based customers. This means, the price will be reduced in between Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 90,000, depending on the variants. The Intelli-Hybrid technology comes available in the S4, S4+, S4+ 4wd, S6+, S8, S10-2WD (Manual Transmission) and S10-4WD (Manual Transmission) variants of the Mahindra Scorpio.

The Intelli-Hybrid technology in the Mahindra Scorpio assists the mHAWK diesel engine during acceleration. It also automatically switches the engine off within 3-seconds of the vehicle being standstill. Apart from that, the system also comes with brake energy recuperation technology.
The 1.99-litre mHAWK diesel engine churns out 120 BHP of peak power at 4,000 RPM and 280 NM of peak torque at 1,800 RPM. The engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and delivers 15.4kmpl of fuel economy. Mahindra Scorpio is powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine in the rest of the country. Due to the ban on the 2.0-litre and larger diesel engines, which was in effect in Delhi few days back; Mahindra introduced the 1.99-litre engine to Delhi-NCR spec Scorpio.

Speaking about the launch of the Scorpio with the Intelli-Hybrid technology in Delhi-NCR, Mr. Pravin Shah, the President & Chief Executive (Automotive), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. has said that, Intelli-Hybrid technology shows the company’s commitment toward making the modern technology more accessible to a wider audience. He also said that, by reducing fuel consumption, the Intelli-Hybrid helps Mahindra Scorpio owners contribute towards a cleaner and greener Delhi and NCR.
