Jeep India has today introduced the Compass Sport 9AT for a price tag of Rs. 21.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The new derivative gets the nine-speed automatic gearbox at Sport level for the first time and becomes the least expensive automatic Compass sold in the domestic market. Customer deliveries are scheduled to start during the second week of next month through Jeep dealerships and Stellantis Brand Houses.
No mechanical changes have been made as FSD (Frequency Selective Damping) suspension system is part of the Sport AT package while DST (Dynamic Steering Torque) supports the steering system. It must also be noted that front-wheel drive is standard on the Sport AT helping it to become the least expensive automatic variant available within the SUV’s range.
On the inside, the equipment list comprises a 21.3 cm Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, steering mounted controls and electrically adjustable outside rear-view mirrors. As for Safety, the new variant comes with six airbags, cruise control and Auto Hold function.

Power comes from Jeep’s versatile 2.0-litre MultiJet II turbocharged diesel engine. The four-cylinder unit is good enough to develop a maximum power output of 170 hp and 350 Nm of peak torque and sends power to the front axle through the nine-speed automatic transmission. The American manufacturer under Stellantis conglomerate also offers an optional accessory pack priced at Rs. 29,900.
It contains ambient cabin lighting, a dashcam equipped with predictive safety functions, Swoosh exterior decals, all-weather floor mats and mud flaps. The accessory list should not be mixed up with the standard Sport AT’s equipment list though as it can be selected separately by customers who want those items.

The expansive Compass portfolio encompasses manual and automatic gearbox choices along with front-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive configurations based on the trim level. The regular Jeep Compass is priced between Rs. 17.99 lakh and Rs. 30.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The new entry-level AT is positioned just above the Sport MT and Longitude MT.
