Suzuki Baleno debuts in Indonesia; gets additional body kit and powered by 91 PS 1.4 litre K14B four-cylinder petrol engine
PT Suzuki Indomobili has unveiled the India made Maruti Suzuki Baleno at the ongoing Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show 2016. Christened as Suzuki Baleno the car gets a new radiator grille, additional body kits compared to the India spec model. Expect the car to go on sale sometime in 2017 in the country, and it will be manufactured in India only.
The Baleno is the first made in India model exported to Japan. Now the Indonesian market is also expecting it. The Indonesia spec Suzuki Baleno looks identical with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS. We have seen the Baleno RS at the 2016 New Delhi Auto Expo earlier this year in February. The car would launch in Indian market during the upcoming festive season.

Meanwhile, the Indonesia spec Baleno looks sportier compared to the India spec model. The car is painted in an exclusive black colour, unavailable in India. The silhouette is identical, but it gets additional kits. The sharp and large headlamps get HID units and integrated LED daytime running lights. The radiator grille comes in a mesh appearance. It sports a sleek chrome V shaped trim beneath the grille. The front bumper looks sporty with wider air intake, which also sports a silver underlining appearing like a splitter.
The side profile boasts 16 inch gun metal alloy wheels, side skirts, blackened glass area, chrome garnished door handles. The wing mirrors sport integrated side turning indicators. The rear profile also looks sporty with a roof spoiler with integrated brake light. The taillights are joined by a thick chrome bar beneath the rear glass. The rear bumper looks beefy.

At interior the car sports multifunction steering wheel, 7 inch touchscreen Smartplay infotainment system with Apple CarPlay. Other features include multi info displaying colour instrument cluster, push start and stop button. Safety features include dual airbags, ABS, reverse camera with parking sensor.
The engine produces power for the Indonesia spec Baleno is the same available under the hood of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. In the MPV the 1.4 litre K14B four cylinder petrol engine churns out 91.1 PS of peak power and 138 Nm of peak torque. The engine might come retuned in Baleno. On transmission front the car gets a 5 speed manual gearbox and an automatic gearbox as well.
