2018 Honda Fit comes adorned with visual enhancements, new colours, added tech and improved safety features

Honda’s US division has made available the updated version of Fit for sale. It comes with revised exterior, additional safety features and improved technology. Prices start at just over $16,000 (Rs. 10.28 lakh) for the base variant of the Fit aka Jazz hatchback as we have known as in the Indian market.

The updated cosmetics on the Fit are not the only modification as it gets improved in terms of connectivity as well. Therefore, a new Sport trim has been added with two new exterior paint shades going by the name Helios Yellow and Orange Fury. Glancing over the Sport variant, you can easily notice the aggressive front splitter and diffuser at the back.

Moreover, there are also bright orange pin-striping, side sill garnishes, 16-inch gloss black alloy wheels and chrome exhaust finisher among other visual enhancements. As for the interior, the 2018 Honda Fit features a sporty black theme with contrast orange stitching to attract young customers.

The new Fit hatchback also receives Honda’s Sensing suite aiming at greater driver assistance and safety tech. The package is standard on EX trim and above and it comprises of Collision Mitigation Braking System, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keeping Assist System, Road Departure Mitigation, Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Departure Warning.

The Japanese global automaker has also introduced a new seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity as standard fitment on Sport, EX and EX-L trims. It has several updated features as well for improved in-car experience to the customers.

As for the powertrain, the 2018 Honda Fit comes available in a 1.5-litre four-cylinder i-VTEC petrol engine which is good enough to produce a maximum power output of 130 PS and 154 Nm of peak torque. Honda has made several mechanical changes for better ride quality and handling characteristics as the suspension is re-tuned along with structural reinforcements and an updated steering wheel. It could be showcased in its Jazz form for India at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo before going on sale a little later.
