Honda Civic Modulo comes with exterior bodykits for sportier appearance; no mechanical changes made

Honda’s Philippines subsidiary has launched the Civic Modulo in its home market. The Japanese auto major has expanded the Civic lineup and made available three new variants namely 1.8 E Modulo, 1.5 RS Modulo and 1.5 RS Modulo Sport. Why the Modulo name you might ask, it is nothing but a tuning firm Honda works with in Japan.

Available to order at showrooms in Philippines, all the three Civic Modulo versions comprise of exterior and interior sport packages. On the outside, they come equipped with front under spoiler, one pair of exhaust pipe finishers for the RS Modulo Turbo Modulo and RS Turbo Modulo Sport, Modulo emblem, sportier side skirts, aggressive rear bumper and a diffuser.

The red and black paint scheme elevates the aggressiveness besides tinted glass and the RS Turbo Modulo Sport Variant sits on 17-inch matte black Modulo Alloy Wheels. The 1.8 E CVT Modulo gets deck lid spoiler while side step garnish is standard across all three grades. All the genuine Modulo accessories have been credited with three years of warranty period.

However, beyond these cosmetic makeovers, Honda has kept the same mechanicals much to the disappointment of some enthusiasts. The unchanged engine specifications mean that one variant of the Civic Modulo is powered by the 1.8-litre E CVT engine and the other two RS Turbo versions with the familiar 1.5-litre VTEC turbocharged unit.
