Honda Amaze Sales Dropped by 50% in July, Jazz by 47%

Amaze sales dropped; Honda Car India sold 14,033 units compared to 18,606 units in July recording 25% overall decline

Honda car India seems to running in deficit. The Japanese automaker is facing huge losses across the entire range available in Indian market. Despite the facelifts the Honda Amaze sedan and Jazz premium hatchback has seen a decline in sales by 50% and 47% respectively in July, 2016. The entry level compact hatchback Honda Brio has also seen a decline of 69%. So far, all the cars on offer from Honda car India has seen steep decline in the July, 2016 sales chart.

The Honda City has been one of the very popular mid size sedan in Indian market. The upmarket looking sedan has also seen a decline in its sale by 17% in July this year. It has sold 4,317 units compared to 5,180 units in July, last year. The Honda Brio hatchback has sold only 349 units in last July, compared to 1122 units in same period last year.

Honda Amaze sits in one of the most competitive segment in the country. The compact sedan segment sees the tough competition between Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Hyundai Xcent, Ford Figo Aspire and Honda Amaze. The Amaze has sold 2,309 units in last month compared to 4589 units in July, 2015. This means the sales has declined by exactly 50%.

Honda car India launched the new generation Jazz last year in the country. The car was launched with several design updates and feature updates. Undoubtedly, the Jazz is one of the very stylish cars available in Indian market. But it has also faced a decline like its siblings. The Jazz has sold 3,517 units in July, 2016 compared to 6,676 units sold in same month, last year.

While all the Honda cars are running with lower sales figure, the Mobilio is in terrible condition. The MPV has sold only 137 units in last month, compared to 909 units sold in July, 2015. This means the car has seen 85% decline. The Honda BR-V is the latest model introduced in India by the automaker. This car has sold 3,333 units last month.
