India’s top two-wheeler brand sold 303,692 units on one day; registered highest ever single-day sales in the world
Hero MotoCorp has set a new record on Dhanteras by selling more than 3 lakh unit across India. The two-wheeler manufacturer sold a total of 303,692 units on a single day that combines both motorcycles and scooters. Interestingly, this is highest ever single day retail number registered by any company in world.
India’s top two-wheeler manufacturer claims this has been possible because of the sales boost it has seen in north, central and parts of eastern regions of the country. In September 2017, Hero MotoCorp sold record 7 lakh units, which was the highest ever monthly sales by any company and it also retailed more than 2 million units in the second quarter of this financial year.

Now, with more than 3 lakh units sold on single day in October, the brand hopes to see even higher number of sales in this month. The festive season has been long considered as the time for sales hike for every automaker in India. Under the new tax system, two-wheelers have seen slight price reduction that has played crucial role in enhancing the sales number.
Overall, in this festive season, the company registered more than 10 lakh units sales in the country. Hero MotoCorp is currently aiming to increase its market share in the country by rolling out new models. The brand is focusing bigger share in both motorcycle and scooter segments. Also, it is increasing the retail network as well.

Interestingly, country’s biggest two-wheeler manufacturer has been at the leading position in the motorcycle segment for quite long time thanks to the models like Splendor. But, in the scooter segment of Indian two-wheeler market its rival brand Honda rules with the Activa range. Hero too is focusing on scooter segment with its upcoming 125 cc model that is expected to come blending retro style with modern technologies.
