BMW G310 GS made its gobal debut at EICMA 2016 and the India debut happened at 2018 Auto Expo held in February

BMW G310 GS spotted in Chennai-Bangalore highway near the TVS plant which is in Hosur and it was transported on a truck. Some reports claim that the bookings for G310 R and G310 GS commenced in India but the company is yet to officially announce it. These spotting might suggest that we can expect BMW Motorrad to launch the G310 twins soon in India.

The G310 R is the first bike produced under the new partnership of BMW and TVS as these products will be manufactured at Hosur plant of TVS. India is the export hub of G310 series. BMW G310 GS made its gobal debut at EICMA 2016 and the India debut happened at 2018 Auto Expo held in February.

From the side, the G310 GS looks exactly similar like its siblings and this continue towards the rear. BMW Motorrad has given upright and wider handle bar for the G310 GS.

The seating position is low along with wider handle bars gives a comfortable riding position for the G310 GS. The company is going to position it as an adventure touring bike, so comfort is a important priority. The G310 GS comes with upside down forks at front and mono shocks at rear which will be tuned to tackle both off-road and on-road.

BMW-G310-GS-3.jpgThe front wheel is 19 inch and the rear is 17 inch with multi-purpose tyres. BMW has given 300 mm disc brakes at front and 240 mm at the rear along with dual channel ABS system for the safety of rider. But the G310 GS comes with only 11 litres of fuel tank which is very low considering that it’s will be used for touring.

BMW G310 GS is powered by 313 cc single cylinder liquid cooled fuel injected engine producing 34 PS of power at 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. This engine is mated to 6 speed gearbox. The top speed is expected to be 143 kph.  Even though G310 GS is locally manufactured, BMW might price it at a premium and the price expected is between Rs. 2.75 lakh and Rs. 3.25 lakh.
