The new supersport weighs 177 kg and features a 135-degree crankshaft, KYB suspension and an optional automated clutch system

BMW Motorrad has unveiled the F 450 RR, a lightweight supersport motorcycle powered by a 420 cc parallel-twin engine that develops 47 hp and 43 Nm of torque. Derived from the F 450 GS platform, the new model features a dedicated chassis configuration, twin-cylinder engine and Brembo braking components. Furthermore, BMW offers four variants: Base, Sport, M Sport and M Sport Innovation Package. The motorcycle has a ready-to-ride weight of 177 kg and introduces Easy Ride Clutch technology as an optional feature.

The liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine produces 47 hp at 8,750 rpm and 43 Nm at 6,750 rpm. Its crankshaft incorporates a 135-degree crankpin offset and a balance shaft to minimise vibrations. Notably, 80 per cent of peak torque is available at 3,000 rpm. Magnesium covers for the clutch and transmission contribute to weight reduction. BMW claims fuel consumption of 3.8 litres per 100 km, which translates to a theoretical riding range of over 350 km from the 14-litre fuel tank.

The engine is connected to a six-speed gearbox and an X-ring chain final drive. Additionally, BMW offers Shift Assistant Pro for clutchless upshifts and downshifts, either as standard equipment on selected variants or as a retrofit for the Base model. The optional Easy Ride Clutch automatically manages clutch engagement according to engine speed. When combined with Shift Assistant Pro, it eliminates the need for manual clutch operation during normal riding and gear changes. Nevertheless, the clutch lever is retained for manual intervention, and the system can also be retrofitted through BMW Motorrad accessories.

The F 450 RR features a tubular steel frame that incorporates the engine as a stressed member. A 43 mm KYB upside-down fork supports the front, whereas a KYB monoshock connects directly to the aluminium rear swingarm. The rear suspension provides adjustable spring preload and rebound damping. Moreover, the Sport suspension introduces adjustable compression and rebound damping at the front. The motorcycle rides on 17-inch cast aluminium wheels fitted with 110/70 front and 150/60 rear tubeless tyres.

Braking duties are handled by a 310 mm front disc and a Brembo four-piston monobloc caliper. The rear gets a 240 mm disc paired to a ByBre single-piston caliper. BMW Motorrad ABS Pro, Dynamic Traction Control, Dynamic Brake Control and engine drag torque control are standard. Furthermore, the motorcycle offers Rain, Road and Race riding modes. The M Sport specification adds Riding Modes Pro, which incorporates a configurable Race Pro setting and additional instrument display options.

The F 450 RR adopts styling elements from the larger S 1000 RR, particularly its front fairing, aerodynamic winglets and distinctive LED daytime running lights. Its 790 mm seat height, clip-on handlebars and rear-set foot controls establish a dedicated supersport riding position. Meanwhile, optional seats can increase the seat height by 20 mm or reduce it by 15 mm.

Standard equipment includes heated grips, LED lighting, a USB-C charging port and a 6.5-inch TFT instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity and navigation functions. BMW offers the Base variant in Cosmic Black, whereas the Sport receives Racing Red paintwork, Shift Assistant Pro and adjustable front suspension damping.

The M Sport adds the Snaefell White and M Motorsport colour scheme alongside Riding Modes Pro. Finally, the M Sport Innovation Package introduces the Easy Ride Clutch system. BMW also provides a reversible gearshift pattern for racetrack riding and a selection of accessories for luggage, ergonomics and motorcycle maintenance.
