Benelli 302S made its global debut at EICMA in Milan last year and it is going to be one of the seven products to be launched this fiscal year
Benelli officially announced that the company is going to launch 12 new products by the end of 2019 and among them seven new products will be introduced this fiscal year. One of them will be 302S which is going to replace TNT 302R. Having made its global debut at EICMA in Milan last year, the Benelli 302S India launch could happen by end-2018.
The 302S carries forward same design theme of 302R but the company has made some changes to make the bike look sporty. The front gets new LED headlamp, which is inspired by KTM Duke 390, and 302S has same split design with integrated LED DRLs. Benelli has also updated front fenders giving a fresh look.
One of the USPs of 302S is its big 16-litre fuel tank, as most of the modern bikes come with smaller fuel tank. The Italian manufacturer has also stuck by single seat design, which is again different from new generation motorcycles. The pillion seat is slightly raised and rear ends on a high note for sporty look.
Benelli has given LED tail lamps and indicators. The 302S comes with fully digital instrument cluster giving lots of information for the rider and they have also given single piece handle bar. The foot pegs are rear set but the handle bar is positioned upright, which will give comfortable riding position.
The 302S is based on steel trellis frame and it comes with 41 mm upside down forks at front and mono shocks at rear. Benelli uses 120 mm front tyre and 160 mm rear tyre with black alloy wheels. The naked bike is powered by 300 cc parallel twin cylinder engine producing 37.5 bhp of power and 25.6 Nm of torque coupled with 6 speed gearbox.
The braking power comes from twin 260 mm petal disc brakes at front and 240 mm rear disc along with dual channel ABS as standard. Benelli will assemble 302S at its upcoming plant in Hyderabad and CKD kits will come from China. We can expect the Italian manufacturer to price 302S aggressively and it will be launched by the end of 2018 or early 2019.
