Benelli 302S was uncovered at EICMA 2017; blends modern design elements with TNT 300 styling

Benelli has unveiled its India-bound high performance bike 302S that will likely replace the TNT 300 in the market. It was revealed at the EICMA 2017 in Milan and grabbed everyone’s attention with its aggressive and sporty stance. This naked bike carries a basic design approach similar to the TNT 300. But thanks to the new and modern elements, it appears much more stylish compared to its older sibling.

Speaking about the upcoming Benelli 302S’ design, it sports a crafted looking LED headlamp with vertical split, which looks like inspired by KTM models. The headlamp also comes with integrated LED daytime running lights. Apart from that, there are LED turn indicators fitted at both sides of the headlight.

The bike features a fully digital instrument cluster adding premium quality to the model. Based on a steel trestle frame, all-new Benelli 302S gets a muscular and chunky fuel tank that makes the bike bold looking. This 16-litre capacity fuel tank ensures the 302S runs a long range without refueling. The tank scoops and red painted frame add zing to the Benelli 302S.

This bike comes with a plain and long seat with the tail section slightly raised compared to the rider seat. Its ergonomic design seems to offer a comfortable riding stance. The pillion rider too comes offering comfortable sitting experience along with the sporty grab rails. The narrow tail section features LED taillight with integrated LED turn indicators. There is an aluminium plated muscular exhaust at the right side of the bike.

The Benelli 302S runs on Black alloy wheels wrapped with meaty 120 mm front tyre and 160 mm rear tyre. For braking duty, it uses twin 260 mm petal disc brakes up front and rear gets a single 240 mm petal disc brake. The disc brakes come combined with dual channel ABS offering greater protection to the rider and the machine.

The Benelli 302S gets USD front forks up front for suspension duty. This 203 kg weighing naked bike gets power from a 300 cc parallel-twin engine that is coupled with a 6-speed gearbox and kicks out 37.5 bhp of peak power at 11,000 rpm and 25.6 Nm of peak torque at 9,750 rpm.

The bike is expected arrive in Indian market in early next year. Before its expected commercial launch early next year, we are likely to see it appearing at the 2018 New Delhi Auto Expo in February. Upon arrival, it will lock horns with rivals like Kawasaki Z250 and KTM 390 Duke. Expect the Italian bike manufacturer to price it competitively against the rivals with local assembly.

It could become a sales driver alongside the upcoming Imperiale 400 cruiser rivaling the entry-level REs with price of around Rs. 2 lakh (ex-showroom). The latter is expected to become the bestselling model from the brand when it reportedly goes on sale by mid-2018.
