Mahindra is working on new SUVs, including an electric off-roader based on the Vision T concept

Mahindra has several new SUVs in development, and recent spy shots have brought multiple projects into focus. The test vehicles include the revised Thar Roxx, the Scorpio-N facelift and two SUVs derived from the Vision S and Vision T concepts. Here is what the spy shots reveal and what remains unconfirmed.

1. Mahindra Thar Roxx

The five-door Thar Roxx has been spotted testing with DaVinci dampers. Mahindra has already introduced this suspension technology on the XUV 7XO and the three-door Thar OG. The system is designed to improve the balance between ride comfort and body control. The test vehicle also appears to have different alloy wheels, although it is unclear whether the update will bring further styling or equipment changes. A launch timeline has not been confirmed. The addition of the DaVinci dampers will make the Thar Roxx a more comfortable ride in day to day use.

2. Scorpio-N facelift

Mahindra updated the Scorpio-N’s equipment earlier in 2026, but a more comprehensive facelift is under development. Spy shots point to a larger portrait-style infotainment screen, a fully digital instrument cluster and revised cabin controls. A panoramic sunroof and a 360-degree camera are also expected, while exterior changes could include a revised grille, lighting elements and bumpers.

The existing 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines are expected to continue, with manual and automatic transmissions. These details remain based on test-vehicle sightings rather than a complete official specification sheet. Mahindra could also throw in the patented DaVinci dampers on the new update.

3. Vision S-based SUV

The production version of the Vision S concept is expected to become a sub-four-metre SUV. The possibility of it carrying the Scorpio name has been discussed, but Mahindra has not confirmed its final branding. The test vehicles suggest an upright stance and a tall cabin, with independent rear suspension expected to feature prominently. Petrol, diesel, electric and flex-fuel powertrains have been speculated about, although the final engine range remains unknown. A 2027 launch is expected.

4. Vision T Electric Vehicle

The electric SUV derived from the Vision T concept is among Mahindra’s more significant upcoming projects. Recent test sightings suggest a five-door body with squared-off styling, flared wheel arches and several concept-inspired design elements. The model is expected to be fully electric and will likely retain the Thar’s off-road character. However, battery capacity, motor output, driving range and charging specifications have not been revealed. With testing still in its early stages, the electric Thar is likely to arrive later than the more immediate updates.
