The changes for Kwid are subtle as the company has given new bumper at front and rear along with minor changes for wheel arches

Hatchback is the most popular segment in India, even though compact SUVs and compact sedans sell well. They are not able to match hatchback segment which is why manufacturers constantly develop models. Renault introduced Kwid three years ago and it instantly became segment favourite thanks to the SUV like stance and first-in-class features.

The Kwid was initially offered only with 800 cc engine and customers complained about lack of power. Renault addressed this issue by introducing a slightly more powerful  1.0 L engine and then AMT transmission. Last year, the French manufacturer introduced special edition models to keep the buzz around Kwid, but sales dropped by more than 20 percent which is why Renault is planning to introduce an updated model.

The first prototype of Kwid facelift has been spied in Europe but the company is not selling Kwid in Europe and they might be planning to introduce the updated version.

The changes for Kwid are subtle as the company has given new bumper at front and rear along with minor changes for wheel arches. We can expect the interior to get some changes like new upholstery for seats along with new features like steering mounted controls and alloy wheels to attract young customers.
