2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC gets new steering wheel, larger touchscreen infotainment system and new touch pad

Mercedes-Benz is currently testing a facelifted version of the GLC SUV that is expected to launch sometime in 2019. The German luxury car manufacturer replaced GLK with the GLC back in 2015 and the SUV has become quite popular with its overall appearance. Now, the restyling touch will enhance its appeal further.

Latest spy pictures of the upcoming GLC have revealed the interior of the car and it appears to have received several changes in order to become much more appealing. As it looks, the car gets a new multifunction steering wheel, larger dash-top touchscreen infotainment system at the centre console. Also, there is a new touchpad below the flowing centre console enhancing the overall appeal of the cabin.

As it looks, the GLC facelift has received design inputs with inspiration from the latest crop of Mercedes models. The modern high end design elements have been blended perfectly with conventional silver accented rotary AC vents. While these were the design bits inside the cabin of the SUV, exterior of the car also receives couple of styling updates.

The car gets C-Class like headlamp with projector lamps and integrated LED daytime running lights. A chrome finished front grille is there with twin horizontal slats and a large brand logo sitting at the centre. Front and rear bumpers of the car could receive an updated look as well.

New design alloy wheels would be there in the GLC facelift. Apart from that, no other major change is likely to be there in the 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC. While in terms of design and features, updated GLC SUV will come with the above mentioned changes, powertrain of the car could also receive update.

On the powertrain front, new Mercedes-Benz GLC could come with a new 2.0-litre diesel engine that would be capable of churning out around 195 hp of peak power. However, it is not sure, if the new engine will be available in the Indian market-spec model as well. Mercedes has received pretty good response with GLC in domestic market and expect the updated car to arrive here sometime in 2019 only after the global launch. It is one of the desirable luxury SUVs currently on sale and comes priced between around Rs. 48 lakh and Rs. 52 lakh (ex-showroom).
