Among the numerous updates, the most important ones being the addition of traction control system and a Euro-IV compliant engine

Yamaha has introduced the 2018 version of its popular X-Max scooter in Europe. The scooter was first launched back in the year 2006 and has seen timely revisions since then. The X-Max has registered a total sale of over 1.4 lakh units since its inception.

Most importantly, the Yamaha X-max 125 for the year 2018 gets a Euro-IV compliant, single cylinder engine that displaces 125cc, as the name suggests. The fuel injected motor is now claimed to offer a more crisp throttle response besides a better fuel economy. Power and torque figures stand at 14 bhp and 12 Nm respectively.

Another significant update in the 2018 Yamaha X-Max 125 is the inclusion of a traction control system that was earlier seen in its elder siblings only. The braking power to this sporty scooter comes from a single 267mm disc brake up front that pairs with a 245mm disc brake for the rear. An Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) comes standard.

The X-Max has been assisted with motorcycle inspired telescopic forks at the front along with twin spring shock absorbers for the rear. The scooter has been fitted with a bigger 15-inch alloy wheel up front that should improve its handling characteristics and stability.

Furthermore, the 2018 Yamaha X-Max 125 has been equipped with full LED twin headlamps with an LED tail lamp. The scooter will be available for sale in a total of four colour options namely dark grey, light grey, blue and red. The company will launch this scooter sometime during the coming autumn.
